Wood Technology 9 - 100 hours. Students expand upon topics covered in grade eight in greater detail, and explore new topics. A step by step approach is the focus; this course builds the knowledge of the learner by introducing the basics of woodworking- tools, materials, and safety- and then goes on to present the various techniques required for completing wood projects. A blend of basic and more advanced projects that develop the students skills to become more experienced in woodworking techniques. Students typically build boxes in various sizes, small night tables, picture frames, peg boards/shelves, joinery exercises/coupons, knot tieing, dog houses, planters, adirondack chairs, step stools, cutting boards, cnc engravings/burning, cnc signs, and turned bowls.
